JL: First time, when I did make up for sen duffy and prime minister for a televised q and a in the railway room of parliament hill
JL: 2nd time: a photo shoot for formal photos of Sen Duffy
JN Where did that photo shoot take place?
JL In one of the rooms in the senate
JN This was the photo shoot for the senate?
JL Yes
JN Aware of what the photo shoot was?
JL No
JN Your role?
JL Be a second eyes for the photographer, jacket wasn't crumpled, hair wasn't sticking up
JN Did you invoice?
JL Yes
JN Your fee structure?
JL I charge a minimum 6 hour call. Can't recall precise rate back then.
JN goes to Exhibit 3, Tab 16, last page
One of Lambert's invoice dated March 9, 2009 - for March 5, 2009 photo shoot. "Minimum call $300.00"
JL says she provided the invoice to Sen. Duffy
On the event with PMSH/Duffy
JN: Who contacted you to arrange that job?
JL: "Sen duffy"
JN: Did you provide your services to anyone else that day
JL: "To prime minister Harper"
JN: When was arrangement made to provide services to him as well?
JL: "I don't remember"
JN: Who did you invoice?
JL: "Maple Ridge Media"
JN: Why did you invoice Maple Ridge Media?
JL: "I was directed to."
JN: By who
JL: "Sen Duffy"
Not aware of Maple Ridge Media. Never been in touch with Maple Ridge Media before this.
JL says may have heard of the name Gerald Donohue while working at CJOH. Ever have any interaction with Donohue? JL: "Never"
JN showing $300 cheque from Maple Ridge Media to Lambert, and envelope cheque was in with Maple Ridge Media return address on it
JN: Did you having to provide services of 2nd person (Harper) affect rate?
JL: No
JN: Would amount have stayed the same if it was just to Duffy?
JL: Yes.
Back on the 2009 invoice for photo shoot
JN: Do you recall if you were paid?
JL: I believe I must have been.
JN: How do you know you must have been?
JL: I don't know.
JN: What do you do if invoices aren't paid?
JL: I work for CTV for so many years, I have so little other clients. I got out of the practice of filing it
Crown is done with Lambert. Bayne to begin x-examination
DB: Before Senator, did make up as regular part of TV appearance?
JL: Yes.
DB: So make up is connected to TV appearance?
JL: Yes.
DB: On the two times JL did make up services for Duffy after he was appointed to Senate.
On the first invoice, services provided on March 5, 2009
DB: Relatively early in his parliamentary life. You described this as a "photo shoot"
JL: Yes
DB: This is different than the event with the PM. The PM event was a televised appearance?
JL: Yes
DB: On 2010 event: were you aware the televised event was related to the G-8?
JL: I believe it was
DB showing Exhibit E - photo of that 2010 event, showing the PM, Harper
JL says event was in Railway Room, was contacted by Duffy. Can't say who directed Duffy to contact her (if anyone else), other than Duffy contacting her.
JL says there is another room next to the Railway Room where make up took place.
Bayne: It wasn't a personal event for Duffy. It was an official event that was going on.
JL: I believe so
JL says she first went to the private room to do make up: Sen Duffy and her, then PM came later
JL says she's made up the PM before.
Bayne asking if PM is always made up before appearing on TV. JL: "It is a regular part of television." JL saying it's not out of the norm for her to make up the PM.
JL says she took the $300 as payment for making up Duffy and PM.
JL says she's made up Jim Flaherty for televised appearances on the budget in the past. Flaherty's office would call JL, and issued Gov't of Canada cheques
Bayne: "So the gov't was clearly authorizing make up" as valid work?
JL: Yes.
JL on Flaherty make up: Says she was working with CTV already on budget day, and would make up Flaherty at the same time. Would invoice for Flaherty's make up separately. JL believes invoice was sent to the Conservative Party.
Lambert is done testifying, court on lunch break.
